Beginning Classes
Beginning classes are a one-month introduction to the sport for students who have never fenced before, or who have limited experience at another club and need a refresher on terminology and techniques. We start with on guard stance and footwork, safety rules, basic bladework, and move on to simple tactics and sparring. By the end of the month, you’ll be fencing other students on the electric scoring apparatus.
We introduce you to both foil and epee fencing during the beginning session. We start new beginning classes every month, September through June. After one month of beginning class, you can move on to the Continuing class for your preferred weapon.
