Open Fencing and Individual Lessons
For students who have experience or have progressed beyond our group classes, we offer open practice times and individual lessons.

Open Fencing times & fees

We hold open fencing sessions Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 10:00pm, and 3:00 - 5:00pm (by arrangement) on Fridays.

Students taking group classes or camps are welcome to fence during open practice times at no additional charge. For fencers not enrolled in group classes, the floor fee is $75 per month, or $50 per month for dues-paying members of other Seattle area fencing clubs.

Fencers should use their own electric equipment if they have it. Club electric gear may be rented for open fencing for an additional $25/month.

Individual Lessons & fees

We give individual lessons in all three weapons to experienced fencers during all of our open fencing times. Some of our instructors are also available during our elite and adult classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. During the evening practices, we try to give priority to younger fencers who have to leave early. Scheduling details can be discussed with the instructor.

Individual lessons are typically 15-20 minutes long. Lessons for youth and junior fencers are $20 each; lessons for adults are $25 each. Fencers who are taking individual instruction are required to pay for lessons in advance in the form of a lesson card (a block of 4 lessons).  Lesson cards are kept in a book at RCFC so you don't have to worry about losing them. And they have no expiration date.

Newsflash

Join us this summer for a week of fencing fun! We offer half day, week-long fencing camps for beginners as well as experienced fencers, ages 8-16. Camps are a great way for beginners to learn to fence. No experience is required and we provide all fencing equipment. Kids who have taken classes or camps before may be ready for our continuing or intermediate camps. Either way you'll get a chance to improve your skills, make new friends and have fun!

New This Summer -- Full Day Camp Options!

We are excited to offer a full day camp option this summer. During the week of July 16, kids can fence in the morning and then play chess with Chess4Life in Bellevue in the afternoon. Chess4Life will provide transportation.

Due to popular demand, we have also added full day chess/fencing camps the week of July 30th. Kids fence in the morning and play chess in the afternoon; juniors start with chess in the morning and fence in the afternoon.

Visit our Summer Camps page for complete information and registration.
